Product Description
The Star Wars saga will continue in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, a videogame developed by LucasArts, which casts players as Darth Vader's "Secret Apprentice" and promises to unveil new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy. The expansive story, created under direction from George Lucas, is set during the largely unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. In it, players will assist the iconic villain in his quest to rid the universe of Jedi - and face decisions that could change the course of their destiny. - During the period between Episodes III and IV, players hunt Jedi in the role of Darth Vader's Secret Apprentice.
- Unleash and upgrade the Secret Apprentice's four core Force powers - Force push, grip, repulse and lightning - throughout the course of the game, and combine them for ultra-destructive, never-before-seen combos.
- The Secret Apprentice won't just Force push enemies into walls - he'll Force push enemies through walls.
- The Secret Apprentice won't just Force grip foes to throw them aside - he'll Force grip them in midair, zap them with lightning, then drop them to the ground to explode like a bomb.
- In addition to new adversaries created just for the game, such as fugitive Jedi and Force-sensitive Felucians, players will also confront and associate with familiar faces from the Star Wars films, including Darth Vader.
- Visit locations such as Episode III's Wookiee homeworld Kashyyyk and the floral Felucia, the junk planet Raxus Prime, plus an Imperial TIE fighter construction facility.
- Decisions made by players throughout the game will determine the path of the story, including multiple endings that will rock Star Wars continuity as they know it.
- The Force Unleashed is LucasArts' first internally developed title for next-generation consoles, and it

The Force Unleased August 23, 2009 Snorlax (Liverpool, UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am a Star Wars fan always looking for a good PS2 game. I have been waiting for the price of the Force Unleashed to come down and time for any guides/walkthroughs to be written - I have no qualms about using help when I am stuck.
You start as Darth Vader on a single mission mindlessly hacking through numerous enemies. You then become his apprentice. Various Star Wars planets are visited (and later revisited) seeking out your prey - who usually become the boss battle for that part of the game. You gain points for killing the literally thousands of enemies which can then be used to upgrade your powers. These include saber, force and electricity powers.
The game is essentially a third person shooter. It can get repetitive, especially when you are rewarded for using the same move time after time. There is little or no need for a walkthrough, it is straightforward. The annoying thing about the boss battles is having do the button sequences (like God of War) to finish off the boss. More annoying is having these sequences fail on the last bosses (you can guess who they are) even when you have done them perfectly.
The music is great, I even watched the cut scenes as the story covers events between films 3 and 4. All in all, a great Star Wars game.
The best Star Wars game for the PS2,but it's over to fast!!! May 27, 2009 Dragonlord (Cornwall) I am a massive Star Wars fan and for me the Force Unleased is just as enjoyable to play as God Of War 2 and Shadow Of Colossus. The graphics are most impressive with it's God Of War style boss battles and it's flash up button commands. It is great fun being Darth Vaders secret apprentice as you are a real bada#*! You have lots of different powers such as lightning, force push, choke, saber throw and many more. As you progress through the game you can up-grade your moves, unlock new costumes and customise the colour of your lightsaber. I found the story of the Force Unleashed to be very interesting and thought it could make a good film. The only reason why I have only gave Star Wars: The Force Unleased 4 stars and not 5 stars is because I have completed it within two days.
Terrible April 19, 2009 H. Balseiro 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
It's a horribly repetitive game that never gets fun and follows a very, very weak story with a dull main character.
I thought it was going to be a great game, I was terribly disappointed... by very far the worst Star Wars game I've played..
Episode 3 and a bit! April 15, 2009 jbezzo (Cumbria) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Force Unleashed is a continuation of the Star Wars story, post Episode III. For a virtually dead console, it was a suprise that this came out on PS2, but the creaking old machine handles it with aplomb. You are Darth Vader's dirty little secret, a force-strong Jedi youngling who Vader uncovered during a post-Order 66 galactic mop-up and who has become his hidden apprentice. You basically undertake Vader's dirty work, hunting down the remaining Jedi, revisiting familiar worlds like Kashyyk and Felucia and new ones like the glorified municipal tip that is Raxus Prime. The story is fairly engaging, and you end up achieving a kind of redemption by helping sow the seeds of the rebellion, but the gameplay is repetitive. Once the novelty of being able to levitate pieces of debris and enemy troups and then fling them across rooms, the game pretty runs out of ideas. Defeating bosses is a matter of pressing buttons in prompted sequences and by the end of the game there will be nothing you won't know about filleting a Rancor. There are some nice touches - a wardrobe of costumes and guises to unlock and an upgradable lightsaber, including a customisable blade, but once you've completed it, you wont really want to play it again
